In Memoriam
Lorens “Larry” Q. Brynestad
On June 19, 2007, Lorens Q. “Larry” Brynestad passed away at the age of 71. Larry was truly someone whom we all sought to emulate both as a person and as a lawyer. As a lawyer, Larry was regarded both as a consummate scholar in the area of real estate, and as a genuinely pleasant person with whom to collaborate upon a real estate transaction. Larry was the past chairman of the Minnesota Real Property Section, and headed several bar association committees during his career, including acting as the head of the Title Standards Section of the Minnesota Real Property Section for many years.
As a person, Larry generously donated his time to a host of worthy causes. Larry was a founding board member and director of Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry, and twice traveled to India to support the organization's goal of expanding educational opportunities for children. He served for many years as a director for Ebenezer Health Services and was an energetic member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis. Larry also was part of many civic organizations, including the Downtown Minneapolis Kiwanis, for whom he served as president.
Most of all, however, Larry was a friend to those whom he met on his journey through life. No one could better provide a deep, resonant laugh and warm smile, as well as an understanding ear when a problem, either legal or personal, needed to be worked out. We will miss him very much.
